A Webinar on “Development of Digital Law for Digital Economy in Central Asia” by Ammar Younas was organized by the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan and High Technology Park.
Overview: An exponential technological change can be observed in Central Asia. In Post COVID World, technology is expected to change people’s lives since many traditional businesses have already or trying to shift online. Different models of E-Commerce are emerging, and Central Asia is not an exception in adopting these models. Technologies entail some potential risks such as commerce in cyberspace—executing an electronic contract, digital signatures, data protection, liability issues , trade in virtual worlds and so on. Currently, E-Commerce is governed by state commercial codes and contract laws which were developed long ago, and Central Asian legal scholarship is trying to bring innovation in governing laws especially in the areas of E-Commerce. In this webinar, Ammar Younas will highlight some of the key Digital Laws in which legislation is happening in Central Asia and also those areas of law which are untouched at present and require attention of legislators for a e-commerce revolution and sustainable digital economy.
